By PST. KUKU’S WEEKLY NUGGETS

Inspired by a feedback from last week’s nugget. In a brief conversation my reader narrated childhood memories of friends that still stuck with him. One such vivid memory was the death of one of his best friends- and images of him lying in his coffin.

Speaking about different destinations in life, we couldn’t help but think about many of the people we started up with in life – how life has taken us through various paths with mixed experiences under similar or different circumstances.

Do you have friends with whom you started but they’re now “settled” with a spouse and child (ren), and you want to feel that life’s treated them fairly but dealt harshly with you?

Have you been in a place where people intentionally throw or rub their success in your face to spite you?

As we go this week, don’t just look at those who’ve “arrived”. Let us be grateful for the “little things” of life: remember that irrespective of our “undesired situations”, there are many others in more difficult and desperate situations; and even if we’re successful, there are others who’re more successful.

If you’ve “arrived”, do not use your success as an opportunity to spite those who’re yet on their journey; and if you’re yet on your journey, be not resentful and angry about the success of others. Always “be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people.
