The Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone together with the ministry Health has launched an investigation into a herbal product called COCO SAMBA . A statement from the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone said on Wednesday.
The popular herbal product, which is being sold all over the market, is being questioned solely because some sections of society feel that is has not gone through all the necessary clinic tests and certificate to fit into the Sierra Leone market and that it may be harmful to people’s health .
‘’The ingredients include; water, Aloe Vera extract and Caramel, the producer of the product is Buluon GO-NEATGLOBAL LIMITED, 1 Amras Crescent, Torotoro, Quarters, KM36, Lagos Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.’’ The noted.
According to the statement, the Pharmacy board has categorically said that it has not registered the product and could not guarantee the’’ quality and safety’’ of the product.
It further said that a sample of COCO SAMBA has been collected for what it described as quality control analysis; and that they will continue to investigate the issue; hence they will keep the general public informed as investigations continue.
