The Chancery Building of the Sierra Leone Embassy in Kipe community, Conakry Guinea has on 3rd August 2020 hosted 350 Sierra Leonean class 6 pupils who converged to write the long-awaited National Primary Schools Examination in 5 separate centers within the embassy. The environment was peaceful and friendly.
Officials from the Ministry of education and WAEC from Freetown supervised the entire exams.
This development would not have come into success had it not being for the timely intervention of the pragmatic and result-oriented diplomat, the Sierra Leonean Ambassador to Guinea His Excellency Alimamy.
Hassan Bangura has worked tirelessly to ensure that the ministry of education back home in Sierra Leone establish an examination center in Conakry. Such an idea was welcomed by the stakeholders in the ministry.
It could be recalled that some months ago a delegation from the Ministry of Education headed by the Director of Education was dispatched to engaged their Guinean counterparts and staff of the Sierra Leone embassy in Conakry on the way forward.
The team equally asses facilities within all Sierra Leonean established schools as well as the embassy conference hall.
It came as a relief to most parents and guardians who had waited patiently to see their children sat to NPSE. However, it has also put to rest problems most students and parents encountered in the past when traveling to the border district town of Kambia to take their Exams.
Meanwhile, when contacted for his reactions, head of Civil Right Coalition a renowned Civil society group in Sierra Leone, Mr. Alphazo Manley described the initiative as fantastic and further thanked the staff of the embassy headed by Ambassador Alimamy. H. Bangura for a job well done.
