LEONE STAR RETURNS AFTER GOALESS DRAW IN LESOTHO

Leone Stars’ delegation has departed Nairobi on board Kenya Airways after at least five hours delay en route to Freetown.

The nation is looking ahead of Sierra Leone’s crucial match in the on-going 2021 AFCON Qualifiers against Benin on Tuesday March 30th at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown.

The full delegation was checked in, at about 3pm this morning, at the 4-star Nairobi Airport Hotel (Four Points) for a short bed rest and breakfast.

Sierra Leone picked a point yesterday in Lesotho after an unlucky 0-0 draw which significantly slashed Leone Stars hopes of qualifying to the AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.

Nigerians dramatic 1 nil win over Benin later yesterday has however reinvigorated Sierra Leone’s hopes as a simple 1-0 win at home against Benin will see the “Lion Mountain” through to Africa’s biggest football festival once again, since 1996.
