Zenith Banks Gives Le250 Million to NaCOVERC

The Management of Zenith Bank, Sierra Leone has presented a cheque of Two Hundred and Fifty million Leone (Le, 250,000,000), a gesture which tends in integrating the fight against the Corona-virus pandemic, over the weekend.

In her statement, Board of Directors-Zenith Bank, Sierra Leone Boi Jenet Jalloh underlined that the disease has affected not only development but also the economic sector of the country, as a responsible bank, they believed that it was their responsibility to support the government.

The bank has been operating in the country for the past ten (10) years and they were so passionate to pledge their philanthropist financial aid at the National COVID-19 Emergency Response Centre (NaCOVERC) for their restless strive in responding to the disease, frontline workers and others. 

The bank has also recognized various districts where they are operating to extend solidarity with those districts councils, the bank over several days this week will present various forms of support in targeted districts mostly in the aspect of equipment and materials which will include the Freetown City Council.

Zenith Bank continues to encourage personnel of NaCOVERC to keep the good work they been doing in diverse forms “so hopefully we could see COVID-19 behind us, it will enhance citizens to live a normal life and business again,” Board of Directors said

In receiving the cheque, NaCOVERC Chief of Staff, Solomon Coker, said commercial banks are pivotal stakeholders in the country and the above sum of the donation was no small amount and it would contribute a lot in the response.

As the bank intends to expand its assistance in the provincial districts, he advised the management to operate through the District COVID-19 Emergency Response Centre (DiCOVERC) so the response could be enviable from the National to the district level as the planned to roll-out districts donation.
