EVERY LEVEL HAS ITS RESPONSIBILITIES – PART II

Last week, having established that our childhood perceptions about the “freedoms and enjoyments” of others do come with huge burden of responsibilities, we ended on the note that instead of envying others, we should just enjoy the “actual freedoms and enjoyments” we have in our present levels, and be thankful to God for today; because the responsibilities of the next level are real.

Now as grownups, having to handle a range of responsibilities: building careers, raising and caring for family, looking after younger siblings, relatives, or others; which, are no child’s play [elephant aid (head) nor to pikin load], does also bring us some feelings of joy and sense of fulfillment which (only) adults can relate with.

So, as we grapple with the challenges of daily life, aspiring to partake of the “freedoms and enjoyments” (perceived or real) that others might be “enjoying”, let us use the resources we have in our current levels, positions, or situations to prepare ourselves for what lies ahead; because at the ‘next level’ awaits a new set of responsibilities. Even when we would have obtained the cherished crown, and achieved “everything” that is achievable, we will still be faced with the unique responsibilities of maintaining our crown; not forgetting the old adage: “uneasy lies the head that wears the crown”.
So as we go this week, let’s keep pressing on, not relenting, and being faithful in that which have been entrusted to us, for “Much is required from the person to whom much is given; much more is required from the person to whom much more is given.” Luke‬ ‭12‬:‭48‬ ‭(b) GNT

Don’t forget to smile coz it looks good on you.
