This is what could be described by people as a tough stance by the Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police, Ambrose Michael Sovula.
According to very reliable sources, the Local Unit Commander Congo Cross Police Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police John Kenneth Alpha, and four police personnel attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Congo Cross Police Division have been suspended.
Sources said the suspension came about after the polices officers were alleged to be condoning and negotiating a case of Robbery which incident occurred on the 12th June,2022 at the LEONCO Filling Station along Main Motor Road Congo Cross, where a popular musician Amadu Bah alias LAJ was said to have robbed some workers at the filling station.
Sources also say all the police officers are presently under investigation at the Complaints Discipline and Internal Investigation Department (CDIID).
Efforts made by this media to get the official statement of the Police Media Boss pertaining to this matter have so far proved futile.
Sources also stated that in less than two years, Mr. JK Alpha has been suspended twice. Firstly, he was suspended when he was Head of CID for allegedly compromising his office and he has now been suspended again as LUC of Congo Cross Police Division for condoning a very serious case.
Speaking to this medium the Commissioner of Police Media, ACP Brima Kamara confirmed that John Kenneth Alpha has been suspended but that he is yet to tell why he has been suspended.
He said the SLP usually suspends officials when they are under I nvestigation and stressed that he is the only person that could tell this medium the reason for the suspension.
