Dear Women’s Groups, Colleague Councilors, civil society, PC Councilors, Media and other important sector

We are reaching out to you on behalf of the Kambia District Council (KDC) to inform you that the court hearing for Councilor Aminata Conteh, who was brutally beaten by an okada rider in Kambia, has been adjourned to the 27th of May 2024.

We are calling on all women’s groups, and colleague councilors both in Kambia and from outside the region to join us on the 27th of May 2024 as we come together to seek justice for our sister, Councilor Aminata Conteh.

This egregious act of violence against our fellow councilor cannot go unanswered. We must stand united in solidarity to demand justice and accountability for the harm that has been inflicted upon her.

Your support and presence at the court hearing on the 27th of May 2024 will send a powerful message that violence against women, especially those in leadership positions, will not be tolerated in our community.

Let us come together, raise our voices, and demonstrate our unwavering commitment to justice and equality for all. Together, we can make a difference and pave the way for a safer and more inclusive society.

Thank you for standing with us on this important cause.

Warm regards,

Kambia District Council
