Dr Samuel Bangura, who is popularly known as Sam Bangura is a native born of Ronetta village,in the Lower Yoni of Tonkolili District. He grew up as a promising child with his uncle who took care of him and made him neatly trimmed and educated. Because his parents and uncle saw some unique potential in him, he was well taken care of by his parents and uncle of blessed memories.
Though from a dedicated muslim parents, Dr Sam Bangura was raised as an orthodox christian by his uncle whom he spent his well positioned and productive young life with .
As an academic giant who is always at the top of pursuing academic supremacy,Dr Sam Bangura started his academic pursuit in his native village before he migrated to the capital city where he attended the Albert Academy Secondary School and got his GCE Advanced certificate. He graduated at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) with B.Sc (hons.) in Applied Accounting and a Technician Diploma in Accounting-TDA. He is presently a holder of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accounting and Finance, at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone and M.Phil in Accounting and Finance.
As an accomplished eminent professional,he obtained professional trainings in many disciplines like certificate in effective leadership, certificate in Financial Management and Reporting, Effective Electoral Assistance by United Nations Development Program, BRIDGE- Building Resources In Democracy, Governance and Elections by United Nations Sierra Leone and certificate in Electoral Administration and Civic Education Program by the National Electoral Commission, Sierra Leone.
The undiluted Accounting professional has served in many capacities and performed exceptionally well. His outstanding performance in positions of trust has led him to national prominence and his name becomes an example when people talk about results. He has been considered and cataloged as the next heir apparent to succeed the vacuum left by the Fallen Hero, Dr Minkaiku Bah.
Being an industrious and results oriented young person,Dr.Samuel Bangura was appointed as a substantive Director General of SALWACO in March, 2014, by Ernest Bai Koroma led government which has served as a blueprint in his professional career.
Before his appointment, he was the Finance Director of the company in October, 2009 during which he tremendously transformed the institution and made tremendous strides.
He’s the choice of the grassroots and the man poised to envision a united district.
