Manso Lamin Koroma and Sulaiman Sesay aka Mufty were on Tuesday 18th April 2023 sent on remand by magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No1 for an alleged traveling fraud to Canada.
The accused persons were charged to court on five counts offence of conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to section 32 of the larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offences, an unknown date between 1st August, 2022 and 4th January 2023, at Tengbeh town Freetown both accused with intent to defraud conspired together and with other persons unknown to defraud the total sum of NLe103,000 (one hundred and three thousand new notes) from Sahr Gbondo, Isaac, Momoh and Mariama Mansaray by falsely pretending that they will facilitate the traveling for the aforesaid persons to Canada, knowing same to be false.
Count 2 stated that Manso Lamin Koroma with intent to defraud obtained the sum of NLe43,000 from Sahr Gbondo by falsely pretending that he will facilitate the traveling of his sisters Finda Momoh and Hawa Momoh to Canada knowing same to be false.
The police alleged on count 3 that the accused Manso Lamin Koroma on the 20th November, 2022 obtained NLe20,000 from Mariama Mansaray by falsely pretending that he will facilitate her traveling to Canada.
Count 4 state that Sulaiman Sesay defraud and obtained NLe43,000 from Sahr Gbondo by falsely pretending to facilitate the traveling of his sisters Finda Momoh and Hawa Momoh to Canada.
Whiles count 5 added that Sulaiman Sesay on the said date obtained the sum of NLe40,000 from Isaac Momoh by falsely pretending to facilitate his traveling to Canada.
Both accused pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.
The matter was adjourned to Tuesday 25th April, 2023 as Prosecution witness was absent whiles both accused were refused bail.
