Orange SL CEO Hails U-13 Footballers

Orange SL CEO Sekou Amadu Bah on Wednesday 13th July 2022 applauded the Under-13 football team for their brilliant performance in Morocco, he  has assured the rising stars of more sponsorship in months ahead.

The event took place at Orange SL head office hill station Freetown.

The kids flew Sierra Leone’s flag very high in Casablanca, Morocco’s capital by occupying the third place in the finals of this year’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

 The team  played their peers in nine West African countries: Morocco the host, Madagascar, Mali, Senegal, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Central African Republic, Cameroon and Burkina Fasso.

The kids’ tournament also known as the Under-13 championship is another version of the AFCON competition.

CEO Sekou Amadu Bah, While addressing the kids, he made it clear that Orange had an objective of promoting football in Africa, and that Orange Sierra Leone is locally  replicating the company’s overall mission in soccer world.

“Continue to work hard, Orange is investing in football in Africa, and we will do the same in Sierra Leone,” CEO Bah assured the football kids.

He however urged them to pay attention not only to sports but also education, adding that school and football goes together

Speaking on behalf of the Orthodox team, John Keister, coach for Leone Stars informed the audience that he was building a strong foundation for the young footballers amid challenges. He however remains hopeful of a brighter future for the kids in the face of difficulties.

Coach Keister who is also in charge of the national team pledges to continue the good work for a better Sierra Leone.  He believes that there is hope wherever Orange SL is around.

In his contribution, Coordinator for Youth Football Sierra Leone appreciated the work of Orange Sierra Leone. He pledged to work with the company saying, “Our doors remain open to Orange Sierra Leone at all times.”
