CIBMAT Holds Maiden Graduation Ceremony

The College of International Business Management and Technology (CIBMAT) has on the 18 March, 2023 conducted its first graduation ceremony at the Prestigious City Hall in Freetown.

During the ceremony the Principal for the College of International Business Management and Technology (CIBMAT) Ibrahim Ahmed Bangura started by welcoming the August gathering and further stated that the college was accredited by Tertiary Education Commission, NCTVA and also recognized by the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education.

According to him, the board of governors is currently working on documentation of a 3 acre land at success community for the construction of the college campus.

The Board and Management of the college have also submitted the affliction documents to UNIMAK for the supervision of 3 programmes; purchasing, procurement and mass communications respectively.

Mr Bangura also explained that the college has signed memoranda and partnership with Africell, Zenith Bank, Qcell for short courses of training their staff. That will also create an opportunity for the college graduates to do their internship in these institutions.

He added that most of the graduates are now working in different institution like the  Africa Young Voices (AYV) Radio Maria, Freetown Television Network, Easy solar, Ministry of Trade, Mercury International and many more.

He congratulates all the graduates and advised them to make use of their skills and to contribute immensely towards nation building and be CIBMAT ambassadors.

The Director of the National Certificate Vocational and Academic Awards (NCTVA) Eng. Mohamed Jalloh also started by thanking the Board and Management, graduates and all the participants present.

The Director advised that students should for not feel aggrieved to who so ever they asked for support and could not help during their struggle.

He also advised that students should look out for jobs that has challenges rather than soft options and by overcoming such challenges, that will make them more successful in their life because there no success without challenges.

“Students should put on professionalism and the technicality and other competent like being friendly, team player, respectful and time conscious and that would make you be more professional”, he expressed.

He noted that students should have their own standard and commitment as his institution is currently working on the national qualification framework.

The guest speaker Dahlianah Thomas-Cole stated that student should add value to them and contribute to nation building as education represents the safety and security of any country.

She continued that empowerment of women is another major role education  plays in any society adding that when women are educated practices like early child marriage, sexual exploitation, child abuse and child initiation will be a thing of the past.

Madam Cole stressed that women would also be able to speak out due to injustices been done to them and participating in discussion of national interest, take active part in decision making and problem solving.
