After spending years in foreign countries and making tremendous efforts in flying high the country’s national flag (Green, White and Blue) on the global stage through his rhythmic reggae style of singing, the Sierra Leonean born international reggae super star, Daddy Cool has returned home and he is presently working together with his colleague musicians to push the movement forward for the good of Mamma Salone.
Speaking to Central Base Journalists Sierra Leone (CBJSL), the gem of the country’s entertainment industry who had been staying in Conakry, Guinea for a considerable time said he had returned home and joined friends to transform reggae music in the Lion Mountain and at international level. He added that he came back to his country of origin because he believes that there is no place like home and further deliberated that wherever or whatever luxurious life you are living in a foreign country, you must one day return to your root. “Why can’t I sit on the throne of the Lion Mountain? he asked his audience, family and fans and described Salone reggae music as the best because, according to him reggae music came from here.
He said Sierra Leone is enjoying best Afro Reggae, Afro Dance Hall and other types of good music, emphasising that Sierra Leone music is universal and expressed his happiness that our upcoming artists are rising strongly by the minute.
“Daddy Cool in the yard now to cool down reggae music and the young people in the entertainment industry”, he told CBJSL and hammered home the fact that there is no provision for musicians in the country to enhance adequate survival, observing that indeed the ‘gron dry’ but he was quick to encourage all colleague reggae artists and other set of musicians to not relax but they should continue pushing the business with optimism or hope until they attracted the needed support.
As I am around now to push the reggae music to it highest pick for the general elevation or uplifting of the country’s entertainment industry, Daddy Cool said he is equally giving advise to the political actors and the sitting President Julius Maada Bio to do the needful to ease the political and economic crisis which is reversing development among citizens.
The international reggae super star, Daddy Cool came to his conclusion by admonishing civilians to be law abiding or obey the rule of law to avoid any thing with the potential to bring an unrest situation in our peaceful land, Sierra Leone.
